A few days ago I was reading scripture and this verse caught my attention..Psalm 103;2 Bless the Lord o my soul and forget not all His benefits..I have been a follower of Christ, a Born Again Christian for close to fifty years and had never considered the benefits of being a christian.
I am well aware of the blessings, the promises. the grace and the hope that we have but the word benefits really stood out. I always thought that benefits appled to the benefits I received as an employee or from insurance policies etc. But the more I thought about the verse, the more excited I became about discovering the benefits of being a christian.
I will list some of the many benefits, bible verses and will add links to other websites. If I miss some because there are many, please feel free to let me know.
The forgiveness of sins
1 John 1;9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Link to other verses
The Holy Spirit indwelling
Jesus speaking… I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:16-17).
A Peaceful way of living
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)
Hope for today and for eternity
Jer 29;11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
A guide for living
Read the following verses from Psalm 103
103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6 The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

There are no limits to the benefits of living a Christian life..
The last statement in the Bible is this: “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen” (Rev. 22:21).
Revelations 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
It is not about how much you know but it’s about who you know..Do you know Jesus as Your Saviour?
